Embarking on a European adventure requires savvy packing to ensure you’re prepared for each thrilling chapter of your journey.
I like to keep it simple and focus on the must-haves as opposed to all the extras. Let’s start here:
1. Travel Documents
A non-negotiable is a valid passport. Keep in mind most countries require 6 months of validity after your final return date. Visas, travel insurance and your mobile itinerary are essential too.
2. Comfy Footwear
You’re going to walk and walk and walk. I promise. Cobblestone streets, hilly cities and museums that go on forever will be part of the plan. Don’t skimp with this.
3. Layered Clothing
I’m a fan of quick-dry moisture-wicking fabrics. Climates, both inside and out, vary and you’ll want to be prepared for it all.
4. Backpack or Day Bag
You’ll leave your hotel for the day, often not returning until after dinner. A light jacket, water bottle, meds, guidebooks, electronic essentials and more will need to come along for the ride.
5. Packing Cubes
I’m a fan as they require me to be an organized packer. I have the cutest Cotopaxi colored cubes which always make me happy to pull out of my closet.
6. Rain Gear
I’m really not an umbrella fan but I always take a rain jacket or poncho. If you bring it you won’t need it. And if you don’t, you’ll end up paying a premium for one.
7. Travel Apps
Download them all! Maps, language translators and currency convertors.
Begin with this list, and tailor it to your travel style and the unique places you plan to visit. Europe is waiting – pack thoughtfully and embrace the adventure ahead!
